There's a wedding paradise about 60 minutes drive from Newcastle City called Tocal Homestead. Although we've shot here many many times it's always possible to find something new and beautiful within the estate. We think Tocal is the epitome of a country wedding, and the Haighs' big day was styled perfectly in line with the feels of this venue. A stellar lineup of local perfectionists helped bring it all together. Floral arrangements by Sophia Wilde, Hair by Michelle Jackson, Makeup by Beth, Cake by Mae Petite, Event hire by Whimsical Fox, Photography by Stories with Mel and making it fun and official on the day was Kim Oakhill. Oh, let's not forget the AWESOME band led by Dan Runchell and delicious food by Sprout Catering. This teaser contains many drone shots, which are used to best show Tocal's stunning landscape, oh, and being a licenced drone operator is required by this property before you can take to the sky as it's located in restricted airspace. And we are licenced drone operators! Check out this teaser, we hope it's inspiring to all of you lovers looking for a venue, or seeking ideas for your wedding day. We'd love to be there for you so get in touch today. We are filmmakers. GMTMT Films - Fall in Love.
So you're engaged and have your heart set on the perfect venue. The one you've been dreaming of since you fell in love! You call them and ask to take a look and pick the date you've wanted. All of a sudden you find they are totally booked out for the summer. It happens to a lot of couples we speak to and it leaves two options. Change the venue or change the date. So here's what we think. Go for the winter wedding. Chances are there will be a bunch of dates available, not just at the venue but for photographers, videographers, dj's, stylists, florists, hair and makeup artists, the list goes on. Yes, that's right, by choosing a winter wedding you're on a winner. Take a look at the venue once winter comes in, or even better ask for picture of the venue to see how it looks during the winter. Almost everywhere in the Hunter Valley looks amazing in winter so don't be afraid to break the summer sweat and opt for the cosy fireplaces to set the tone for the big day. Watch this teaser from the July wedding of Lili and Connor at Circa 1876, love it, fall in love with it. See the summer version here!
Driving to the Hunter Valley almost every weekend to shoot a wedding is what we at GMTMT Films do. As creatives, we are so incredibly lucky to have a paradise 40 minutes from Newcastle. We love the open spaces. It inspires us and provides the scene for our lovers. We love the inside / outside vibes most venues offer up. Some, like Circa, make us drool. It's whimsical, romantic and classy. It's the type of place where fairy tales happen. Get ready in the century old Convent which is 2 minutes from the original building where the reception takes place. You don't need to leave the property to get the killer shots, which means newlyweds can hang close to their guests and avoid that disconnected wait until you return for the grand entrance. As the seasons change Circa 1876 takes on a new life throughout. It's never out of season. Deciduous trees in winter make for a lovely moody feel, while in summer lush leaves and the breeze invites the warmth and garden party feels. We've shot here a dozen times or more, know it well. She's our big girl of the Valley. She's Circa 1876.

Mel + Nic's glamorous wedding took place at Werribee Mansion in Melbourne. These guys have a love story which spanned several years from Canberra to France and now the UK.
